Manual installation
If drag-and-drop doesn't work in your browser:
- Copy the bookmarklet code using the button below
- Right-click your bookmarks bar and choose "Add page" or "Add bookmark"
- Set the name to Rover Dumper
- Paste the copied code as the URL
Browser notes
Chrome / Edge / Brave: Drag and drop works. You may need to click "Keep" if Chrome warns about the bookmark.
Firefox: Drag and drop works. If the bookmarks bar is hidden, use Ctrl+Shift+B to show it.
Safari: Drag and drop may not work. Use the manual installation method — add a bookmark, then edit it and paste the bookmarklet code as the URL.

FAQ
Is this safe?
Yes. The bookmarklet runs entirely in your browser. It doesn't send data anywhere — photos go straight from Rover's servers into a zip file on your computer. The code is open source so you can verify this yourself.
Do I need to be logged into Rover?
Yes. The bookmarklet uses your existing Rover.com session to access the photo API. Navigate to your pet's profile page while logged in, then click the bookmarklet.
How long does it take?
It depends on how many photos your pet has and your internet speed. The progress screen shows elapsed time and estimated size so you can gauge how long it will take.
What browsers are supported?
Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari on desktop. Mobile browsers generally don't support bookmarklets.
I have a lot of photos. Will this work?
Yes, but very large sets (1000+ photos) may use significant RAM. Use the photo range filter to download in batches if needed.
What's a bookmarklet?
A bookmarklet is a bookmark that runs a small script instead of opening a website. You install it by dragging a button to your bookmarks bar (or pasting code into a bookmark's URL field). It only runs when you click it.
Does this work on mobile?
No. Bookmarklets require a desktop browser with a bookmarks bar.
